Digital Veterinary Resources

We use an iPad during appointments to access a suite of professional programs. This includes a drug interaction checker to ensure medication safety and Plumb’s Veterinary Drugs, the leading resource for the most up-to-date treatment protocols and drug information.

Client Education

Through these programs, we can provide you with client-friendly handouts written by veterinary specialists on a wide range of health topics. These resources are emailed directly to you, empowering you with information.

Cloud-Based System:

All of our clinic’s systems are cloud-based, allowing Dr. Smith to securely access your pet’s complete medical history from anywhere, at any time.

Creating the Veterinarian-Patient-Client Relationship (VPCR)

The foundation of our practice is the Veterinarian-Patient-Client Relationship (VPCR)—a legally recognized relationship built on trust and communication. The most important investment you make in your pet’s health is the exam, as this is where our partnership begins.

Our appointments are structured in three parts to foster this relationship:

  1. History: We begin with a detailed conversation in a relaxed setting. This allows us to gather a thorough history while giving your pet time to acclimate to the new environment and to us.
  2. Physical Exam: Once your pet is more comfortable, we perform a comprehensive physical exam.
  3. Getting on the Same Page: We conclude with a collaborative discussion about our findings, your goals, and our recommendations. Together, we create a health plan tailored to your pet.

Establishing this VPCR is valid for one year and allows for greater flexibility in your pet’s care. For minor issues that arise, we may be able to manage them through telemedicine (phone or video calls), saving you a trip to the clinic and keeping appointment slots open for pets who need them most.
