Our practice offers a limited scope of surgical services, focusing on procedures that can be performed safely and appropriately within our clinic setting.
Procedures We Offer:
The primary routine surgery we perform is the neutering of male cats. These are straightforward procedures done with injectable sedation and a reversal agent, and we are equipped to handle emergencies with intubation and oxygen if needed. We intend to schedule these as a once-a-month clinic.
We can perform minor procedures that require sedation, such as aspirating lumps on an anxious pet or managing ear hematomas.
On a case-by-case basis, we may perform “salvage” procedures, such as removing a bleeding skin tumor, when the only other alternative is euthanasia. These procedures will only be scheduled after all associated risks are discussed and agreed upon with the client. As always, everyone needs to be on the same page.
Procedures We Refer:
We do not perform any surgeries that involve opening the abdomen, including spays. Our clinic’s one-room layout is not suitable for maintaining the sterile environment required for such procedures.
All other major or complex surgeries are referred to other veterinary hospitals. We will always provide you with a clear expectation of the costs associated with a surgical referral.
Financial Policy
We strongly believe in the long-term health benefits of our recommendations. However, we understand that finances can be a concern. We will always work with you to develop an alternative plan that fits your budget.
You will never be sent to a referral or emergency clinic without a realistic estimate of the potential costs you may face there.
If a critical pet requires care that is not financially feasible, we will openly discuss humane euthanasia as a compassionate and much lower-cost alternative.
Please note that payment is typically expected at the time of service and we accept CareCredit, credit cards and checks. You can learn more or apply for financing through CareCredit.
