We utilize a combination of in-house and external laboratory services to provide comprehensive diagnostic options.

istat

i-STAT Analyzer

A portable, patient-side device used for running critical blood tests in emergency situations, providing immediate results.

Vetscan Imagyst

Imagyst System

Many cases can be diagnosed using simple, rapid, cost‑effective in‑house tests, which can help guide referral decisions. The Imagyst System is an advanced machine allows us to perform in-house cytology on samples from lump aspirates, as well as analyze fecal and urine samples and blood smears with a quick turnaround time.

External Laboratory and Imaging

For most cases, we prefer to send samples to an external reference laboratory. This is more cost-effective and yields a much wider range of information.

We offer a comprehensive diagnostic panel, which includes a complete blood count (CBC), full chemistry panel, thyroid level, SDMA (an early kidney disease marker), a heartworm and tick-borne disease panel, and analysis of fecal and urine samples.

Imaging

Our clinic does not have X-ray equipment (neither full-body nor dental) due to space and logistical constraints. However, we have a strong relationship with local clinics and can refer you for X-rays. The images are then sent to us for review and follow-up.

Ultrasound

We have a high-quality ultrasound machine with Doppler capabilities. We are proficient in using it for straightforward applications such as identifying bladder stones, diagnosing pyometra (infected uterus), confirming pregnancy, and detecting abdominal fluid. We are actively undergoing further training to expand our skills for more complex scans. For challenging cases, we can capture high-quality images and send them to a specialist for interpretation.

Our guiding principle is to provide valuable diagnostic information. If we feel a case requires diagnostics beyond our capabilities, we will refer you to the most appropriate facility to ensure you are not wasting time or money.

Financial Policy

We are committed to financial transparency and open communication about the costs of veterinary care. For new puppies and kittens, we will provide you with a clear list of our recommendations and their associated costs.

We strongly believe in the long-term health benefits of our recommendations. However, we understand that finances can be a concern. We will always work with you to develop an alternative plan that fits your budget.

You will never be sent to a referral or emergency clinic without a realistic estimate of the potential costs you may face there.

If a critical pet requires care that is not financially feasible, we will openly discuss humane euthanasia as a compassionate and much lower-cost alternative.

Please note that payment is typically expected at the time of service and we accept CareCredit, credit cards and checks. You can learn more or apply for financing through CareCredit.
